My favorite Netflix Instant Movies.

In this blog I will help you sift through the countless number of mediocre and dismal movies currently residing in the ever changing Netflix Instant library. I have spent many hours at my house searching through the library for an entertaining flick to capture my imagination for the night.

Being as this is my first blog I thought I would just jump right ahead and give a few of my favorite picks that you might not have seen yet. I picked these films because they incorporated all the characteristics of a good film that I look for.

I believe a movie should reach out beyond the screen and touch your feelings. It should go beyond just a way of passing the time and help the viewer become a part of the movie. Take for example my all time favorite movie "The Shawshank Redemption" starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. If you haven't already seen this cinematic masterpiece then go out and rent it immediately. However, those who have should be able to relate. Think about how you felt when Andy threw his hands arms in the pouring rain after he escaped. Films like that caught the viewers attention so vividly it made it seem like they themselves had just broken free.

Epic Films such as Shawshank are few and far between. Netflix instant has an extremely large library of movies for the user to choose from. However, there aren't many movies of that caliber on Netflix. There are however, many good movies to choose from. Finding these films is the hardest part of the equation when picking out a movie, as there are many less than mediocre films present as well.

I'm going to start off with 5 of my favorite movies you may have not seen yet on Netflix Instant.

5. Cashback

Cashback is a story about young art student Ben Willis and his break up with his girlfriend. After realizing how quickly she moved on, he develops chronic insomnia. To help pass the long hours of the night he takes a job working overnight hours at a local supermarket. His insomnia gives him the "gift" of freezing time and all those in it. That way he can realize the beauty of what lies in the frozen world.

4.  This is England

Young Shaun is a friendless 12 year old living in England during the early 1980's. His summer break has started, however he seems to be wandering aimlessly. It comes by chance one day that he runs into Woody and the group of fun loving hooligans with him. The summer takes a turn for the good with parties, girls, and shaven hairstyles. Ben is elated to be part of a group. Everything changes when Colombo arrives fresh out of prison. This is England gives an insight to working class Brits in the 80's dealing with racial issues, unemployment, as well as repercussions of the Falkland's War.

3. The Football Factory

The football factory is a gritty, however, sometimes humorous story of a group of men or "firm". Soccer is more than just a game to them and their team is a part of their life. When dissenting firms meet it is similiar to a present day battle on the streets of England. The film tries to unmask their manifesto and discover why they look forward to the bloodshed of the big fight more than the actual game.

2. HappyThankYouMorePlease

Sam Wexler is a struggling writer living in New York city having a bad day. Riding home on the subway he comes across a young boy who was separated from him family. After finally learning the boys name (Rasheen) he attempts to return him to his family to no avail. He makes the precarious decision to keep him around. All the while Sam's friends are dealing with their own problems of love and self image.
